---------------------------------------------------------------- Katrina smirked as she navigated her way around the camp. Normally, she wouldn’t be caught out so much in the wilderness but it was fulfilling Momma Michaels’ wish that she would go to camp in order to keep herself out of trouble. Momma Michaels was, of course, Travis’ mother who had taken her in since she had been kicked out of her own family’s home. You see, Katrina grew up in California with her parents and her sister who was younger, prettier, and overall more perfect in her parent’s eyes. In small efforts to gain the attention from her family members, Katrina got caught up with “the wrong crowd” and when she got a job as a “dancer” at fifteen, she was disowned. Adapting her nickname full on, Pixie met Trav when she was intoxicated at one of his band’s parties. No, she doesn’t remember how she got to his home in Tennessee but she was glad to have such a good friend and a new family. Even after two years, it’s still hard to shake some of her old habits. It’s not her fault she unintentionally steals boyfriends or that she is so fun when intoxicated.
Her blue eyes scanned the emerald grass as she continued walking. There were quite a few kids here already and the thought of hooking up with someone, anyone had been on her mind. Being at camp meant that there would be tons of boys to corrupt and more girls to annoy. It would be fun or she’d make it fun. There was no way she was going to sit idle by and go hiking and kayaking when she was much more of a girl who wore corsets and stilettos everyday. However, since today was one of the first days of camp, she toned down her outfit but still smuggled away the tutus and heels in her cabin. Feeling the small grumble in her stomach, she remembered where it was she was going and took up a quicker pace. Was it bad that the last time she ate was yesterday at lunch she had an apple? Dancers were notorious for eating disorders but Pix didn’t think that she had one. Her 105lb body proved otherwise. If it helped any to counteract all of her faults, the girl was insanely smart, it was a shame she was wasting such a brain by drugs and alcohol. Calculus was a mere hobby.
Thank goodness for signs because Pix would have gotten lost if it weren’t for the humongous sign that said “Corner Café.” Pulling the door open, a small bell signified her entrance into the establishment. The same rumbling feeling erupted in her stomach again and yet she ignored it the best she could as she made her way to the counter to order her favorite cup of coffee and a small salad. It was an interesting combination but she couldn’t risk losing her figure now that she would be dancing nearly every day. She chose a table by the window and made herself comfortable as she began to consume her goods and people watch at the same time. Off in the distance a couple was already experiencing their summer love and at this Pix couldn’t really help but to roll her eyes. People you love only let you down. Besides, relationships were only more trouble than they were actually worth, right? Focusing on her coffee, Pix slipped into her mind a little further. ----------------------------------------------------------------

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - SO WHY DON'T YOU LAY RIGHT HERE LET ME JUST EASE YOUR MIND I'M GIVING YOU ALL MY TIME ! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Eric may not of been able to stop his sister from signing him up as a counselor at the same camp he had just left about five years ago. The only bad part about the situation was that he actually still knew a lot of the campers here and could easily just party with them and get alcohol like he did in the previous years. Even though it was a camp, it was still a home away from home. Too bad he used that other home as a party home, like some people use their pool houses. Eric knew he would not even be that harsh to the campers here at Camp Highland unless they tried to do anything to him. As far as he knew, he would knock down those horrible plans before they ever left his classroom. Also, if they are horrible actors or photographers, he will tell them to their face, but also give them tips to help them improve. He hopes to be their friend but still actually teach them something to boost their careers.
Eric felt a little lonely in his cabin today. Most of the other counselors were actually hanging out with each other. Well.. He was not positive but he was pretty sure that his sister was on some sort of date with one of the dudes she was working with this summer. He was almost positive but it would embarrass her for him to even ask so all he could really do was assume. Her not being around did not affect him though. He was really only hungry right about now and could really use a soda and sandwich. He was happy that he knew places around that were not the awful cafeteria that should be shut down for the lack of good tasting and healthy foods. He did not have that power though so he was just stuck complaining about it all the time and finding alternatives. This alternative led him to the Corner Cafe where he just knew that he could enjoy a good, healthy and peaceful meal at the going rate of $8.00.
Eric entered the cafe with the door ringing in his ear and almost making him want to put a piece of tape on it. He was just too hungry to want to ring this really annoying bell. He walked to the front counter and ordered a Sprite and a turkey sandwich. He then grabbed his order and looked around at the tables. He noticed a few couples scattered and some campers who definitely had been to camp previously and figured out the same little advice that he figured out when he was a camper here. The only possible complaint about this place, would be how far away from the camp is. He drove here and it took him ten minutes and sometimes the campers did not have that much time to get there and back before their next course began. That was when Eric noticed that young girl near the window. She actually did not look that young though. He decided to be friendly to the girl who did not look like one of the girls who would be at Camp Highland.
He immediately sat down across from her and showed off her charming smile. "Hello, I'm Eric and I have no one to sit with." He said laughing a little bit. "And I noticed that you did not have anyone sitting with you either so I decided to join you." He added in a nice way. "If you do have someone joining you, just tell me and I will stop eating this delicious turkey sandwich and move to one of those empty little tables in the corner right over there." He said pointing over to a little corner. "So.. why are you only drinking coffee when there should be a meal in front of you?" He asked her with another charming smile. That was his one fantastic trademark that was a blessing and a curse. A blessing when he used it right and a curse when he could not keep all the girls away. Although another positive feature going for him was his eyes. They seemed to sear right through people.

---------------------------------------------------------------- Katrina had never ever been to camp before so when she found out she was being forced to go, it was a bit of a disappointment. She had pictured a bunch of hippie kids singing Kumbaja around a campfire, making smores and just being boring. When it came to the nightlife, Pix rather be at some club dancing and drinking, picking up whoever she deemed worth her time. It was fun and always meant to be a one nighter, no strings attached kind of deal. Pix would rather get to business and then leave before the morning simply because that was the easiest and also because she didn’t need drama. She knew that eventually she would have to grow up but as for right now, she was seventeen and reckless and there was nothing wrong with that. Her favorites were the older guys who were married and using her for a side mistress, at least they gave her money and expensive presents. No, she didn’t really care that she might break up their marriage because she only looked out for number one and she was incredibly good at sneaking around. Besides, if the wives did find out, it wasn’t completely her fault and she could easily disappear, skip town since she didn’t have much to begin with anyway. Those days were few and far between now that Momma had a close eye on her.
Fortunately, this camp wasn’t not completely a hippie camp and it did have some programs. Pix opted for dancing even though technically she was an impeccable singer. She figured she might as well learn more than some risqué dancing and some lessons she took when she was a child. As for singing, she would have liked to amount to something of that nature but her voice did not match her personality as it was pure and innocent when she was a sinner. It wouldn’t quite sound right. Many of her new friends were in music since they all wanted to be pseudo rock stars but barely knew how to party like one. It didn’t really matter as Pix kept her options open, always just in case. Who said there couldn’t be a loud, boisterous, toolbag artist that she would find attractive? Trav was there to prevent that since he stopped her last relationship just because the guy got drunk and punched her in the eye. Needless to say, Pix put him in the hospital by issuing a kick with her stilettos.
Finishing her small side salad, she pushed it aside and continued to judge the people around her. Dull, ADHD, smarty pants, sensitive, sexy? Pix’s eyes looked up as she was joined by a perfect stranger. Well, this certainly made her job a lot easier. Being sought out was better than finding someone and usually when she was in regular clothes and not corsets with lace and tulle, it was a very hard thing to come by. A smirk appeared on her thin lips as her mind momentarily began to run away. He was rambling. She hoped for a second that he wasn’t one of those people who liked to talk about themselves but didn’t want to hear what you had to say. Finally he stopped though and for that she was grateful. Yes, his voice was very appealing and quite soft but what she had on her mind didn’t require words. Pixie. And I’m not that hungry to be honest. Oh wasn’t it great to start off a relationship with a bunch of lies? On the inside she was starving as her stomach slowly began to eat itself and her muscle mass began to deteriorate, it was all for the love of glamour. Must think you’re quite something, to just waltz in and take your pick of tables, huh? A smirk told him she was only kidding. Confidence was pretty attractive either way. I’m not from around here so I don’t have that privilege yet. Though, if she wanted to, she easily could. Leaning back she looked at him from a better angle. He’d do just nicely, too bad he didn’t know what he was getting himself into just yet. One day, she was sure that Mr. Mysterious was going to look back on this and regret he ever ordered a turkey sandwich and chose her table of all the vacant tables in the corner café.
